BOMB- Discuss the plot

As I read this book I really liked it, it was very action packed to me.This book is about a chemist in Germany making a discovery, It was shocking for everyone. When he placed a uranium atom next to radioactive material, it split into two. When everyone found out about the discovery, they worked to try to find the scientific discovery. So a group  of scientist had to make sure it was hidden safely in Los Alamos. This was a life risking job for them to do. There was three continents that battle to get it. It was an important discovery because the atomic bomb could be made. And if it didn't fall into the right continents hands there could be trouble.
My favorite thing about this book was it was a lot of detail that went into the discovery. Also there was a lot of action generated between the countries on the race to make the first atomic bomb. I also liked how it was very adventurous.

Describe/relate to character- From Gang Member to Role Model

My favorite story in this book is Sergio's. I like his story because he use to belong to a violent gang but then changed his life.He lost two friends because of gang activity and realized none of the things he was doing was worth his life. So he stopped being apart of a gang and started to help out kids. Teaching them not to do negative things as they grow up.

Describe/relate to character-Limited Vision, Unlimited Potential

Isaac was a kid that was a good athlete but didn't do well in reading and writing. He didn't do well because his vision wasn't so good. This also effected him when he played sports, but that didn't stop him from playing sports. Later he found out he had Stargardt's, which is a eye disease and there was no cure. So he had to learn other methods to help him.

Make a connection- Caught in Gambling's Grip

Even though I've never had a gambling addiction, I can connect to Lisa. I can connect to her because I use to be addicted to video games. I use to play them all day everyday, just like Lisa gambled a lot. I later overcame my addiction like Lisa. I started to do things to keep my mind off of video games, I still play them but not as much as I use to.

Author Purpose-Reality Strikes

The authors purpose of writing these stories were to inform that a lot of kids have problems as they grow up, its a part of growing up. But the problems they have, they overcome them. And all of the stories had something in common, they didn't let their problems keep them down forever.

Pierre Jackson- Favorite quote

Pierre Jackson is a basketball player who played at Baylor University before he went to the NBA. He is also short like myself, and I can relate to that. One of my favorite quotes he has said is ''People said I wouldn't last a semester in junior college, get a scholarship to a D1 college. They said I wasn't going to the NBA....But I did.'' I like this quote because I feel that he had a lot of people who doubted him and proved them wrong by putting in hard work.

Kyrie Irving Hoop Dreams-Favorite

As I read an article about one of my favorite point guards in the NBA, Kyrie Irving. I found a lot interesting things about him. My favorite thing I found out about him was he's very dedicated to the game. His life is literally revolves around basketball. I also found out the before he made it to the NBA he would spend a lot of his time in the gym trying to get better and that's something I like about him.

#LILLARD TIME- make connection

As I read an article about Damian Lillard who plays for the Portland Trail Blazers, I felt that I could connect to some of the things he had to go through before becoming a NBA star. In high school he was looked over and underrated. He didn't get as much playing time that he thought he deserved. ''St. Joseph Notre give a 10th grade Dame decent playing time.'' I could connect to this because I play basketball for my high school and I feel that I deserved more playing time, I also felt underrated because of my height, just as Lillard did

Narrative of the Life of Fredrick Douglass-Author purpose

He wrote this book to inform everyone about slavery. To let everyone know what slaves had to endure during these infernal times. Because some people during this time thought slavery wasn't that bad because they were always sing chants. Those chants were rapturous chants and from depression. Douglass wrote this book to the white men that would probably have the sense to listen to what he had to say.

Maximum Ride-describe/relate to characters

My favorite character in this book is Max, she sarcastic, loving, and caring. What I like about her being sarcastic is she can do that but still admit to things. Shes loving and caring because she has to raise four kids by herself before turning 15 and that can be tough for anyone. When reading this I can relate to her because I can be very sarcastic at times but still get my point across.

Teaching Chess And Life- Discuss Scene

This story was about a boy named Carlos that lived in a neighborhood that was not the best to live in. It had a lot negative things that went on in it. Carlos had a mentor named Mr. Chiappetta, he was the one who taught him a lot about chess, and playing chess kept him out of trouble and out the streets. My favorite scene in the story was when he was at a chess tournament, and while he was playing he saw he had good moves and he got too excited and started gloating. Then Mr. Chiapetta stop the game and made him forfeit it to teach  him a lesson. A lesson of showing good sportsmanship.
